now>press>play have partnered with National Grid

now>press>play are partnering with the National Grid to create an immersive audio Experience about renewable energy sources, accompanied by follow-on resources for the classroom. This Experience supports our Science offer and helps children understand the urgent need to power our homes sustainably, and the different ways in which we can do so (e.g. wind and solar). It also stimulates children’s broader interest in STEM subjects by including a positive, female role model who works as an engineer and is our ‘sidekick’ throughout.

The National Grid play a crucial part in the move to Net Zero by enabling national infrastructure to support this change. They also educate young people about the role of the Grid, what change might look like and indeed how they can pursue a career in this fast-growing industry. They have already partnered with other educational providers to these ends, largely in secondary schools; this partnership will be one of their first primary school projects, allowing them to reach 600 schools and inspire over 160,000 children to love learning about STEM.

Request your school’s visit from an inspiring member of the National Grid.

From July until next March, members of the National Grid staff will be available to run an immersive experience and Q&A about the grid, renewable energy and engineering with your class, as part of our partnership.
