Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

During a heatwave, you and Auntie Ejo put out a fire below your flat – and Mrs Upperton, the landlady, blames it on your friendly neighbour. You visit Aunti Ejo’s workplace at the National Grid and in the control room, see that a windfarm has been sabotaged. But who’s done this? And why?

Learning Intentions:

  • How to reduce our own carbon footprint
  • Renewable energy and its different sources
  • Engineering as a job opportunity

Request your school’s visit from an inspiring member of the National Grid.

From September 2023 until March 2024, members of the National Grid staff will be available to run an immersive experience and Q&A about the grid, renewable energy and engineering with your class, as part of our partnership.
