The Experience is used to introduce a new unit to the children, to hook them into the topic. The children are engrossed and learn lots of prior information about the unit. They are able to write recounts based on the Experience as they have been able to take the role of the character. The teachers use the characters throughout history/geography units making reference back to the Experience in their lessons.
