2018/19 – What a year!

Schools out for summer and wow…what a year it has been!

At now>press>play HQ we are all taking some much-needed R & R and we hope you are too. But before we head for the beach we wanted to share some of our top highlights from 2018/19….

Demos

Our team have been up and down the country and rocketed children to Mars, transported them back to Ancient Egypt, explored the effects of Climate Change and time-traveled to the Stone Age – to mention but a few!  That is over 6,000 children who were provided with the opportunity to learn together in a fun and inclusive way.  WOW!

Social Mission

The number of children now learning through now>press>play has increased to a whopping 60,000. Our now>press>play schools are bringing the curriculum to life and making learning fun and exciting with our audio adventures to help raise attainment, extend children’s life experiences and help their pupils develop emotional responses and discussion skills.

Experience Days

We have held 6 now>press>play Experience Days, hosted by a now>press>play school, with over 50 schools from the local area attending.  These events have explored Bullying, Online Safety, Science Week, Transition, and have been a fantastic opportunity for children from local schools to mix and learn together.

Events attended

We have been honored to exhibit at 19 events across the country showcasing our immersive, audio adventures to a range of educators, teachers, and children.

National Literacy Trust

We launched our partnership with the National Literacy Trust which offers their members a 10% discount on our annual subscription. We are thrilled with this partnership as we share the trusts aim to inspire and support children to improve their literacy skills and we are looking forward to seeing what the new year will bring. Catch up on our blog for the National Literacy Trust here in which we explain how audio learning can improve engagement in the classroom.

New team members

We recruited two fabulous team members who have embraced their new roles with confidence, passion, and sensitivity. We are proud of their achievements and grateful to be working with such inspiring and dedicated individuals.

Awards

We won the BETT Award for Best Digital Device! Our team work tirelessly to provide the best service possible and helped us to gain this recognition but more importantly are the schools, teachers, and children who have supported us along the way.  Being recognised at this prestigious event was a truly memorable moment. Read here from just a few of our supporters and what they had to say about us when we told them we were applying for a BETT award.

And we were overjoyed that at a reception at the House of Lords, The Education Foundation unveiled the EdTech 50 – a list of 50 people, products and projects transforming education in the UK. And guess who was on the list at number 22! You can read all about it here.

The survey is now open for the EdTech50 2019 Year Book and you can help shine a spotlight on this vibrant sector by nominating those people, products, and projects that are shaping this dynamic sector in 2019 here.
