Our Partnership with the National Literacy Trust

We were utterly delighted when the National Literacy Trust approached us to become partners, because we share their aim to inspire and support children to improve their literacy skills. Through our partnership we aim to support more children and primary schools with their literacy.

We will provide primary schools with immersive “real-life” Experiences across the curriculum to:

  • Extend children’s life experiences and enrich vocabulary.
  • Stimulate children’s imaginations and inspire creative writing.
  • Help children develop emotional responses and discussion skills.

We currently work with over 40,000 children. We mainly work in deprived areas where children often have limited life experiences. We provide teachers and children with Experiences that are rich in language, placing ‘talk’ at the centre of what we do. When children are excited about what has happened to them they want to share and talk about it and this enables the teachers to build on this excitement and motivate children to write.

We are looking forward to this academic year and working with more primary schools and children to help improve engagement, speaking and listening skills, and writing.

The National Literacy trust offer school membership with access to engaging and inspiring teaching resources and tools for outstanding literacy provision in your school. If you are not already a member then we highly recommend speaking to them.
