Ravensworth Terrace Primary School
We are thrilled to announce details of our Experience Day open to all schools in the North East.
Tell us more…?
It won’t be long before you wave goodbye to your current Year 6 children as they move up to Year 7 and we’re sure you are already starting to prepare them for the best start at secondary school.
With this in mind, we are delighted to have teamed up with Ravensworth Terrace Primary School, Animate 2 Educate and Tagtiv8 to offer a FREE “Transition” and “Anti-Bullying” workshop available to all North East schools.
This event is a great opportunity to reinforce the messages about how your school supports your children to transition successfully to secondary school, how to cope with change and how to deal with any bullying your pupils may encounter. The immersive nature of the workshop will give children first-hand experience of starting a new school and how to deal with issues like peer pressure. These Experiences truly bring the issues to life by placing each child at the centre of the action.
How will the day work?
Places are limited so we are inviting schools to send up to four Year 6 pupils who must be accompanied by a teacher, with a maximum of fifteen schools in attendance. Head Teachers and Senior Leaders are very welcome to join too!
Arrival time is 9:15am for a 9:30am start.
During the course of the morning Year 6 pupils will experience two fully immersive now>press>play Experiences and a Physically Active Learning session by Tagtiv8.
PSHE plays a vital role in helping children to develop fully as individuals and as members of families and social and economic communities.
In our Bullying Experience, pupils will experience bullying in person and online, deal with peer pressure, become a bully themselves, face the consequences of their actions and learn how to make amends.
In our Transition Experience, pupils will explore the challenges of starting at a new school and experience what day to day life will be like at secondary school. They will:
- Live with new rules and figures of authority
- Get to grips with unfamiliar uniform, timetables and language
- Deal with bullying and peer pressure
- Discover their personal strengths
- Positively contribute to the community they have joined
Between these sessions, Bryn Llewellyn of Tagtiv8 will deliver a Physically Active Learning session with the children.
The morning session will conclude at 11:30am.
