Click Into Your Creative Classroom

‘Click Into Your Creative Classroom’

A free CPD event for teachers and educators.

14th June 6-8pm, Edspace Hoxton

Here at now>press>play we believe that all children have the right to a creative education, one that caters to all learners and feeds their imagination.  If today’s youngsters are going to be tomorrow’s future app developers and space explorers, then yes, we agree, they need to have the core subjects like Maths, English and Science. But surely, to prepare them for a job that doesn’t yet exist, they must also have the power to imagine and believe in their creativity. From creative confidence comes communication and teamwork, resourcefulness and free thinking.  We all want our children to be resilient and to equip them with the life skills they need in order to innovate in the 21st century. In order to do that we need an education system that meets the needs of our children and not the other way around.

Click Into Your Creative Classroom is a free CPD event that aims to celebrate creativity in all subjects, and the teachers, schools and companies that champion this way of working.  But firstly, to make sure we can fully engage we will be providing free pizza, beer, wine and soft drinks. So dinner is sorted!

Ty Goddard is our host for the evening.  Ty is co-founder of The Education Foundation, a leading independent organisation focused on reform, tech & innovation across education. Ty is also Chair of Edtech UK, a strategic body accelerating the UK’s edtech sector.

We have two fabulous guest speakers who will be sharing how they use edtech and creativity to enhance their curriculum;

Donna Shah

Donna is a computing specialist at Newington Green Primary School in Islington and also works with the Islington Computing team, supporting schools in delivering and embedding EdTech within the curriculum. Donna’s role has enabled her to develop a curriculum around the pupils’ needs and link this learning creatively to their class topics. Find out more in Donna’s blog.

Anna Kyrk

Anna is Head of Curriculum Development and Project Based Learning at School 21, a pioneering new 4 to 18 school in East London. School 21 was founded on a shared belief that education must be done differently if we are to prepare young people properly for the world they are going into.

Next up is the part where you get to connect, learn and play with digital tools that will enable your pupils to be well-prepared for a technologically rich future.
